Jonathan Coates

Video producer for Music, History, and Art.  

Jonathan has created video & audio content for the BBC across Music Television, History, Arts, and Radio. He has also worked at Universal Music as part of Decca Classics, creating documentary and performance content with major music talent including Reneé Fleming, Nicola Benedetti, and Juan Diego Florez. 

He has made films for BBC Radio 3, BBC Radio 4, BBC World Service, BBC News Online, Voces8, Decca Classics, and a wide variety of private clients.

Most recently, he has been working in performance and documentary, including working with the artist Bridget Riley, and various History documentaries for the World Service’s history programme, Witness.

He has also presented for the BBC, including Facebook Lives from Garsington Opera for BBC Arts, and a number of radio appearances, and helped build BBC Radio 1's Podcast strategy to engage the 16 - 24 audience.
